If you've been on a brewery tour at Smuttynose, then you know that we collect donations for non-profits instead of charging a fee for tours.
We poll our staff for organizations and causes that they care about and then rotate them through on the quarterly basis. It's an easy way to help out some worthy organizations while doing something that would be taking place already; it's really a no-brainer.
The tour staff is pleased to announce that we were able to raise over $9000 for these eight non-profit organizations in 2013:
A Safe Place- Domestic violence prevention in Strafford and Rockingham Counties
Friends of Mount Washington Avalanche Center- Supporting avalanche safety on Mount Washington
Child Voice International- Facilitates the rehabilitation of child war victims
Pints for Prostates- Raising awareness of prostate health through the medium of beer
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast- Mentorships for at risk children in the Greater Seacoast
The New England Fall Astronomy Festival- Public outreach and promotion of astronomy
The Pontine Theatre- presenting actor-driven theatre in Portsmouth's West End for nearly four decades
Pine Tree Council Boy Scout Troop 388's trip to Sea Base
On behalf of the above organizations, Smuttynose thanks all of you who have done good while drinking well on a brewery tour.
We hope to see you soon at the brewery!
